Another thing with the shots were on montages, I kept the camera rolling for most of it. During the changing sequence, I had to pick between clips that made sure it didn't jump too far in time, but didn't have too much repition of the same shot.
Within this sequence, I kept the second shorter one since the first option had a clip that felt unnecessary. This was to keep the audience from becoming bored from repition of shots.
I had the same situation with the montage in the bathroom where most of the clips can be trimmed or deleted altogether.
I went with the shorter option again since my this point in my film, I realized that my shot repetition was beginning to make it feel bland and boring, so keeping the clips shorter and fewer lowered the chances of this.
