Visually Editing the Shots

As previously mentioned, I was unable to film with the pretty orange of a sunrise, but I still wanted the beginning of the film to seem dreamlike without this quality. When I showed my rough cut to the class, one of my classmates suggested for the first sequence I should add a vignette to it. When he suggested this I didn't exactly know what this meant, but I added it to my shots and it made the edges around the screen blur. It felt more dreamlike since everything seemed lighter since I made the blur white not black.

On top of this, I felt the clips looked a bit washed out and bland, so I added a saturated filter to it to bring a pop of color that contrasts with the duller colors in the montage later on.

I feel like having this differentiation in color scheme between the two different scenes helps create a visual seperation between that dream reality and actual reality.

(This was the shot with only saturation on it.)
