Difficulty Recording Script

Since this narrative script was a last moment addition, I had difficulty trying to get my actress back to record the voiceover. The problem was that I had soccer practice, tennis matches, and tennis practices leading up to when the final cut was due and Maddie was going away to states within a couple days.

What didn't help was that I was trying to find a time, possibly late at night, but I needed Maddie to get back to me and tell me if she was available that day of, but she didn't back to me on two of those days.

(She didn't let me know)

(She didn't record the audio)

Once we were two days away from her going away to states and four days away from when my final cut was due, I texted her asking her just to use voice memos to record the voiceover. I sent her the script and a demo of what I wanted the voiceover to be like so there would be no complications.

Two days go by and I never got a voice memo back, so the day before the final cut is due, I decide to voiceover the part instead. The problem? Both me and Maddie's voices were already in the film. In order to do this voiceover, I would have to dub over Maddie's speaking lines she does in the car, and I would have to use a different voice to dub over my speaking lines I had in the car.

I luckily had nice equipment to film ADR with (a blue yeti mic and a closet with good acoustics) that made the setup process quick and easy. Actually voice acting was the hard part for me.
